The four walls of the classroom need to be supported by a mode of learning that meets the needs of the 21st century learner. A healthy mix of online and offline strategies is necessary to guide students to become lifelong learners.
It is with this in mind that we're offering a seminar for all Grade School and High School Teachers on "SHAKING EDUCATION THROUGH BLENDED LEARNING." In this seminar, participants will learn strategies that they can use to plan for lessons that utilize blended learning...
By now you might be asking, What is "blended learning"? The Christensen Institute defines it as such:
Blended learning is not the same as technology-rich instruction. It goes beyond one-to-one computers and high-tech gadgets. Blended learning involves leveraging the Internet to afford each student a more personalized learning experience, meaning increased student control over the time, place, path, and/or pace of his or her learning.
The definition of blended learning is a formal education program in which a student learns:
(1) at least in part through online learning, with some element of student control over time, place, path, and/or pace;
(2) at least in part in a supervised brick-and-mortar location away from home;
(3) and the modalities along each student’s learning path within a course or subject are connected to provide an integrated learning experience.
Our seminar is scheduled on May 23, Saturday, from 8:00 am - 12:00 noon at Room 3 of the Walter Hogan Conference Center, ISO Complex, Ateneo. Seminar speaker/facilitator is Mr. Gino Luayon.
We look forward to your joining us on the 23rd.
